Fishin' Mission

Welcome to “Fish Like A Local,” led by Capt. J-Stapes, a USCG Licensed captain and guide. In collaboration with his first mate and wife, Tokey, they bring a unique blend of expertise and passion to the world of fishing and the outdoors. Capt. J-Stapes , drawing on a lifetime of fishing, traces his earliest memories back to casting lines with his father on the beach during childhood vacations.

Dedicated to mastering the art of fishing, Capt. J-Stapes has spent countless hours on the water, not only honing his skills but also sharing his knowledge with others. His journey began with a profound appreciation for the kindness and advice of other local fishermen, shaping his deep connection to the saltwater realm. Transitioning from freshwater fishing, Capt. J-Stapes found himself enamored with the challenge of the sea.

Driven by a heartfelt desire to educate, Capt. J-Stapes discovered a passion for not only taking others on fishing adventures but also imparting the skills needed to “Fish Like A Local.” In addition to their on-water endeavors, Capt. J-Stapes and his wife are figures in the social media and YouTube landscape, creating engaging content that showcases their fishing adventures and outdoor expertise. Their commitment to sharing valuable insights extends beyond the waters, fostering a community where friends, family, and strangers alike can embrace the intricacies of saltwater fishing under their expert guidance.
